Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in New Hampshire Ranks Among Top Insurers in NCQA's Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2010-2011 -

MANCHESTER, N.H., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in New Hampshire has once again ranked among the very best private health insurers in the country, according to the National Committee for Quality Assurance Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2010-2011 - Private. This recognition as one of the nation's top health plans is the result of outstanding overall performance in clinical care measures, member satisfaction and NCQA accreditation.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in New Hampshire was rated 17th out of the top 20 private health plans in the country.*

The NCQA evaluated 227 private health plans and ranked them based on clinical performance, member satisfaction, and NCQA accreditation. To be eligible for rankings, health plans must authorize public release of their performance information and submit enough data for statistically valid analysis. NCQA's Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2010-2011- Private used NCQA's established rankings methodology, which has been used and widely recognized since 2005. 

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in New Hampshire currently holds Excellent Accreditation for its HMO/POS plan and has earned Quality Plus Distinction in Care Management and Health Improvement.  According to the NCQA, the plan scored well in a number of measures including: management of chronic diseases (like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, diabetes, member support and education, healthy lifestyles, and well child visits.
