CRANBURY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- AmeriHealth New Jersey today announced the launch of its new Step2It pedometer app, which can be downloaded at no cost by visiting the Apple App Store and the Android Marketplace. The app officially goes live today in conjunction with the Cooper-Norcross “Run the Bridge” Challenge taking place this weekend. AmeriHealth New Jersey is the presenting sponsor of the event, which supports the Larc School.

The Step2It App is designed to help individuals track and share information about their walks and runs. It allows people to update friends by sending text and social media notifications with how far they’ve gone, how long they’ve been exercising, and their top speed.
The Step2It App features allow individuals to do the following:
- Follow the path of AmeriHealth New Jersey-sponsored walks and runs with pre-loaded routes.
- Track where you are, using the GPS-enabled map.
- Customize the app with your gender, height, and weight, and learn how many calories you burned.
- Save your workouts to see just how much you improve over time.
- Share your workout status with friends using integrated Facebook, Twitter, or SMS messages.
