Affordable Care Act critic Ted Cruz to purchase coverage on the exchange

One of the Affordable Care Act's biggest opponents plans to use the insurance exchange created under the ACA to purchase health insurance, reported the Des Moines Register. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) had been covered by his wife's employer-sponsored health plan through Goldman Sachs. However, she plans to take an unpaid leave from her position to help with Cruz's 2016 presidential campaign. The candidate announced Tuesday that "we will presumably go on the exchange and sign up for health care, and we're in the process of transitioning over to do that." Cruz had taken pride in the fact that he did not need to rely on the federal government to receive health insurance. Article
