Aetna to use Medicity as data exchange platform

Aetna (NYSE: AET) recently bought Medicity, a health insurance exchange company, which it plans to use as a platform to create a data exchange, Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini told Kaiser Health News. "We will shift risk (financial responsibility for medical costs) to the provider system. We'll provide them cover with capital as re-insurers," he said.
