Aetna Appoints Sandra Callahan to Lead Group Insurance Business

Aetna (NYSE: ) announced today that Sandra Callahan recently joined the company as head of Group Insurance. In this role, she leads strategy, operations and product development for Disability, Life and Long-Term Care Insurance.

Prior to joining Aetna, Callahan led Group Protection Operations for Lincoln Financial Group where she was responsible for all risk, administration, claims and service operations for the Disability, Life, Dental, Vision and Voluntary/Worksite businesses. She previously held senior leadership roles with Jefferson Pilot, Guarantee Life Insurance Co. and Mutual of Omaha.

As an active volunteer, Callahan has held several board positions and currently serves on the Women’s Fund of Omaha board of directors. She has been a guest faculty member of the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management and was recently an adjunct faculty member at Creighton University’s College of Business Administration.
