Urgent care docs develop mobile iTriage mobile health app

The American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine (AAUCM) has partnered with mobile health app iTriage to help its members get better visibility for their centers. The iTriage service works like this: Consumers input their symptoms into the app to identify their most likely condition. The app itself then locates the closest clinical resources (physician, ER, etc.) that specializes in that condition.

Through the new partnership, AAUCM members will be able to customize their iTriage listings and include unique or pertinent details about their practices, and hopefully "promote their services to smartphone-toting patients searching for urgent care centers," Academy officials said in a statement.

For iTriage, it's a major database booster, with AAUCM bringing an estimated 1700+ members to the table. That's a major improvement over the handful of urgent care centers that have been joining each week for the past few months, according to company statements.

The free app is available for iPhone, iPod Touch, or Android smartphones through app stores, or at www.iTriageHealth.com for other mobile devices. No telling where parent company Healthagen plans to take the app next -- remember we told you just a month ago about the company buying AppointmentCity.com to add mobile-enabled appointment scheduling capability to its iTriage product line.
