Amcom acquired by USA Mobility for $163M

Wireless communications company USA Mobility, based in Springfield, Va., acquired Edina, Minn.-based Amcom Software--known for providing communications software for medical professionals--for $163 million last week. According to USA Mobility President and CEO Vincent Kelly, Amcom--whose standalone revenue for 2010 was $51 million--now will serve as the company's software subsidiary. "This acquisition is about combining two leaders in mission critical communications," Kelly said in a statement.
