Zynx Health, the largest source of prebuilt order sets for computerized physician order entry systems, has agreed to incorporate the reference content of Thomson Reuter's Micromedix subsidiary in its ZynxOrder solution. Micromedix offers evidence-based reference materials for medication management, disease and condition management, toxicology, and patient education.
The integration of the two product lines pushes Micromedex's information to the point of care, giving physicians access to comprehensive drug information and disease protocols from their ZynxOrder evidence-based order set.
Micromedix, which has more than 3,500 hospital customers, will cross-market ZynxOrder as part of the arrangement. Over 1,700 healthcare facilities use Zynx products for clinical decision support. To date, Zynx clients have customized and deployed more than 150,000 order sets and plans of care within Zynx Health's online solutions.
The Micromedix deal is not Zynx's first partnership with another content provider. Zynx also has an arrangement with First DataBank to provide integrated drug information.
And this past November, Zynx and five leading healthcare systems launched a pilot to test a new Zynx product that analyzes the capabilities of clinical decision support to advance the goals of accountable care organizations.
