What's missing from medical imaging and radiology news: Your opinion

Over the past year or so, we've seen the number of medical imaging stories that we cover FierceHealthIT explode. From managing radiation doses to the latest imaging research, we've been publishing several stories online and in our daily health IT newsletter each week.

Hopefully, you enjoyed those stories, but in order to bring you even more coverage and to make it easier to find the radiology stories you're looking for, we've launched a new website and weekly newsletter: FierceMedicalImaging.com.

Although the site has only been up a couple of weeks, we've started to build a library of news and commentary there--I hope you'll check it out and let us know what you think.

Topics on the new site include business and market strategy, picture archiving and storage, reimbursement, the latest imaging research, regulatory and risk management news and more.

Some of the popular news stories on the new site (so far) include:

  • Docs often don't follow up on radiology reports
  • Radiologists, radiographers must collaborate to minimize patient exposure levels
  • Imaging interpretations differ majorly between referring, specialty providers
  • Election results could have a big impact on radiology

But here's the thing that's missing from all of these lists of topics and stories: Your feedback. You're the expert in your field--and who knows better than you what kind of news, analysis, features, special reports and exclusive interviews you'd like to read?

So tell me, what are your top medical imaging concerns? Is it the business of radiology--how to improve revenue, get into new markets, increase productivity and reduce costs? Are you most concerned about keeping up-to-date on quality and patient safety and the numerous regulations that govern them? Do you want more information about new technologies and techniques?

Perhaps more importantly--what's missing from my list? When you browse our website or open our newsletters--or look at other sources of industry news, what's lacking?

And, by the way, are there imaging rock stars you'd like to hear from? If you could ask one question of radiology leaders at other healthcare organizations, what would it be?

A lot of questions, I know. But I really do want to hear from you. Please share your thoughts and ideas in the comments section below or feel free to drop me an email.

Look forward to hearing from you. - Gienna (@Gienna)
