UPMC, Oracle team to help smaller hospitals with identity management

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Oracle are collaborating to offer the latter's cloud-based identity management solution to smaller provider organizations. UPMC will assist small and mid-sized hospitals in implementing Oracle's CloudConnect Health IT solution, which enables comprehensive management of computer accounts.

"Not a lot of people are selling specific to health care," John Houston, vice president of information security and privacy at UPMC, told the Pittsburgh Business Times. "We are unique for the small or midsized provider that may have been slow to adopt costly and complex [technology]. We try to give an effective solution [that is] simple to implement." Article
