TriZetto Names Pierre Samec Chief Technology Officer to Drive Future Direction of Technology Platform

DENVER - December 5, 2011 - The TriZetto Group, Inc. today announced that it has named Pierre Samec executive vice president and chief technology officer (CTO) and a member of the company's leadership cabinet. Joining TriZetto from Expedia, Inc., Samec will have overall responsibility for driving innovation, technological productivity, enhanced integration and long-term solution development roadmaps.

Samec served as executive vice president and CTO at Expedia, where he led the company's successful evolution to a modern, highly productive technology organization with robust processes and an innovative service-oriented architecture. Earlier in his career, Samec held the position of vice president, quality operations and services, at Business Objects, Inc.,

where he led the product group's re-start after three years without a major release and drove process implementations that transformed Business Objects into a top-10 worldwide software engineering development firm prior to its acquisition by SAP. Shortly after receiving his Ph.D. in geophysics from Stanford University, Samec founded PetroVision, a company that leveraged supercomputer technology and database technology to enable reservoir modeling for oil and gas exploration in complex areas.
