, has named Jeffrey Rose, M.D., chief medical information officer of its physician markets business unit, a new position that will help TriZetto serve its growing provider client base and support the company’s innovative solutions. Dr. Rose will help enhance the organizations’ product offerings based on his in-depth knowledge of health information technology and clinician needs.

Prior to joining TriZetto, Dr. Rose served as vice president of clinical excellence and informatics at Ascension Health, the nation's largest nonprofit health system. In this role, he focused on knowledge management and health information technology for the system, ranging from electronic health records deployment and health information exchange initiatives to enterprise resource planning and clinical data analytics. In addition, he launched the collaborative creation of provider-focused clinical content across multiple care-delivery systems to improve care quality and appropriately narrow practice variation through shared best practices.

He also served as chief medical officer at Cerner Corporation and Health Language, Inc. and authored the book “Medicine and the Information Age,” which addressed critical issues in medical practice relative to information technology. For the past two years, magazine has named Dr. Rose one of the top 25 clinical informaticists in the United States for his excellence in using patient care data to improve both the clinical and financial performance of healthcare organizations.
