SwedishAmerican Health System Selects Humedica MinedShare® for Its Clinical Analytic Solution and Joins Anceta Collaborati

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SwedishAmerican Health System of Rockford, IL, a leading not-for-profit integrated delivery system, has selected Humedica MinedShare® to be its clinical analytic solution for robust clinical, operational, and financial benchmarking and comparative analytics. Humedica MinedShare® will enable SwedishAmerican to measure quality, outcomes and resource use at the system, clinic and physician levels by integrating multiple electronic health record systems and billing systems.

“When SwedishAmerican began investigating analytic solutions, we found that Humedica offered superior analytic capabilities that could incorporate our clinically rich EHR data,” said Thomas Schiller, M.D., President of SwedishAmerican Medical Group. “As a participant in a pilot of the PROMETHEUS bundled Payment® system for ACOs, we knew that we needed to track and manage patient care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. For us, that meant integrating data from two different EHR systems and being able to readily access our data. Humedica has a proven track record of successfully doing this,” Schiller added.

"With its innovative approach to population health management, SwedishAmerican is already well down the path of evolving from a ‘fee-for-service’ to a ‘fee-for-value’ care system,” said Michael Weintraub, President & Chief Executive Officer of Humedica. “Access to clinical and financial data and the ability to turn it into actionable information will ensure that SwedishAmerican continues to be well-positioned to succeed in the fast-changing reimbursement environment,” said Weintraub.

SwedishAmerican Medical Group, a member of the American Medical Group Association, also joins Anceta – AMGA’s Collaborative Data Warehouse, developed in partnership with Humedica. “SwedishAmerican is well-known in Northern Illinois for consistently driving innovation and bringing high-quality care to its patients,” said John Cuddeback, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Medical Informatics Officer, Anceta.

“The Anceta comparative data will allow us to identify opportunities to enhance quality, safety and cost-effectiveness and collaboration with our peers in Anceta will help us achieve optimal value for our patients,” Dr. Schiller noted.
