SPOTLIGHT: Telehealth ethics

Telehealth technologies have huge potential to expand access to care by connecting patients in underserved areas with specialists in other locations. It can also allow more patients with chronic disease to live independently rather than being institutionalized. However, there are some negative, largely unexplored consequences to this technology, including the potential loss of human relationships.
