Appointment Leverages IT for Strategic Business Advantage

Parallon Business Solutions, a leading provider of healthcare business and operational services, today announced it has appointed John Guevara to the newly created position of chief information officer (CIO). He will lead the company’s strategic implementation of information technology enterprise services, applications and processes, reporting directly to Parallon’s president and chief executive officer, Michael O’Boyle.
Guevara brings to his new role more than 25 years of leadership experience in technology infrastructure, information security and business support systems at top technology and Fortune 500 companies, including Microsoft, Intermec, Delphi, Siemens Corporation and others. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of enterprise services and CIO at Allscripts, where he oversaw the strategic implementation of global IT/IS operations and the enterprise hosting business for premier clients.
“John has successfully led complex information technology strategies in a number of highly respected corporate environments and has delivered outstanding results,” said O’Boyle. “Under his leadership, Parallon will leverage IT to foster business growth while improving the reliability and effectiveness of the company’s information systems to produce breakthrough performance.”
Guevara holds a bachelor of arts degree in computer science management from St. Thomas University in Miami and completed advanced studies in management and strategy at Wharton and Fuqua business schools, at the University of Pennsylvania and Duke University, respectively.
