Opportunities Abound for Investors: Wireless and Mobile Healthcare Innovators To Be Showcased At WLSA Convergence Summit 2

Wireless Healthcare Conference Runs May 10-12, 2011 in San Diego

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Investors on the lookout for new opportunities in wireless and mobile healthcare can count on the wireless healthcare Convergence Summit, a three-day event to be held May 10-12, 2011 in San Diego, hosted by the Wireless-Life Sciences Alliance (WLSA) and co-sponsored by TripleTree, LLC.

“Not only is wireless and mobile healthcare a fast-growing segment of the industry,” says TripleTree senior director and chief marketing officer Chris Hoffmann, “it is one of the most forward-looking areas within the healthcare industry.”

The focus for the Day 2 “Investors Forum” this year is designed to captivate investors’ interest by exploring how to maximize financial returns on innovations in wireless and mobile healthcare.

The three-day Convergence Summit is organized for executives, investors, policy makers, academics and healthcare providers, as well as innovators within the field of wireless and mobile healthcare. The TripleTree signature I Awards for innovation within wireless and mobile healthcare are presented on the afternoon of Day 2, May 11, 2011. And on Day 3, a new Innovators Pavilion is to showcase sponsoring companies. Moderated “discussion catalysts” and informal conversations keep the pace of the summit lively and relevant. Hands-on demonstrations at the Innovators Pavilion, Hoffmann notes, will be of particular interest to investors.

Martin R. Felsenthal of HLM Venture Partners is one such investor attending the conference. He says from his office in San Francisco, “We’re very excited to be participating in the WLSA Convergence Summit and to have two innovative portfolio companies, TelaDoc and Phreesia, nominated for I Awards. At HLM, we have been long backed by large strategic limited partners—healthcare payers, providers, healthcare IT companies—who look to us to provide a window on innovation. This conference is amazingly consistent with our strategy of bringing together the investment community, the entrepreneurial community and large corporate players to create productive relationships and share ideas.” Felsenthal is also scheduled to speak on an investors’ panel on Day 2, May 11, of the summit.

A roster of luminaries is slated to give talks during the summit. Paul Jacobs, CEO of Qualcomm, gives the keynote address on May 10, Day 1 of the forum. William McGuire, M.D., former chairman and CEO of UnitedHealth Group, opens the Day 2 Investors Forum on May 11. Other notable speakers include Dan Buettner, best-selling author of Thrive and The Blue Zones; Rahul Reddy, president and CEO of Apollo Health Resources, Inc., Apollo Health Group; Tien Tzuo, CEO of Zuora; John Kelliher, managing director of The Marwood Group; and Archelle Georgiou, M.D., chair, TripleTree Health Executive Roundtable. Approximately 200 attendees are expected each day.

“The growth and innovation within wireless technologies, mobile workflows and cloud computing provide the world of healthcare a chance to make great advances,” Hoffmann says. “For investors, there is a veritable smorgasbord of opportunity.”

The WLSA is an international nonprofit think tank that puts CEOs from the world’s most innovative wireless and mobile health companies together with global leaders in healthcare and technology and financial sponsors.

TripleTree, a founding member of the WLSA, is an independent investment bank and strategic advisor providing growth companies in healthcare and other technology-enabled vertical industries with merger and acquisition, private capital and principal investing services.
