ONC updates open-source HIE implementation software

Connect gateway software version 3.3, open-source technology used to help set up health information exchanges and to connect exchanges to regional HIE networks using nationwide health information network standards, was made available last Friday, according to Government Health IT. According to the Connect website, version 3.3 enhancements include backward compatibility between the January 2010 and July 2011 NwHIN specifications and among Connect versions and parallel message initiation and processing.
