Northwest Specialty Hospital Partners with LifeNexus to Install Personal Health Card Readers for Expedited Admissions

LifeNexus to Launch in Inland Northwest

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Northwest Specialty Hospital and LifeNexus, Inc., the developer of the iChipTM and Personal Health Card®, today announced that Northwest Specialty Hospital will begin using the LifeNexus Personal Health Card.

The Personal Health Card will expedite the hospital’s admissions process and securely exchange private healthcare information with the hospital’s medical staff. The Personal Health Card will enable consumers to carry their health records in their wallet, use it as easily as a credit or debit card, and with the payment card option, will allow for payment of services and co-payments.

"Northwest Specialty Hospital is proud to be part of launching this cutting edge technology that will improve care, decrease costs and provide a better hospital experience for the patient" said Vaughn Ward, Chief Executive Officer at Northwest Specialty Hospital. “The use of the LifeNexus Personal Health Card by our patients, our hospital and our medical staff will allow patients to maintain control and possession of their own health records in a secure way that will expedite care for better patient outcomes."

“This is an innovation that consumers have long been waiting for -- control and portability of their own health records,” said David Strand, Chief Executive Officer at LifeNexus. “Extending the convenience of payment cards to health records provides greater security and usability, but more importantly, will make the health care system easier to access for patients and their families.”
