NextGate Completes Successful Testing of MatchMetrix EMPI at IHE Connectathon 2012

Testing with 150 healthcare IT systems validates PIX/PDQ and XCPD interoperability

ARCADIA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- NextGate®, a leader and innovator in healthcare indexing and registry solutions, today announced another round of successful testing of critical Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) profiles at the weeklong IHE North America Connectathon 2012, demonstrating support for enhanced coordination of care across Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), and other health care communities.

As one of the leading Enterprise Registry specialists, NextGate took part in IHE testing in Chicago with over 150 healthcare IT systems in the industry’s most important interoperability event. Continuing a commitment to industry standards, the NextGate MatchMetrix® EMPI successfully passed 64 interoperability tests across IHE use cases for Patient Identifier Cross Reference (PIX) and Patient Demographic Query (PDQ) employing HL7 version 2 and 3, XCPD Responding Gateway, and ATNA Secure Node.

With over 18 years of experience in building and implementing master index solutions, NextGate developed MatchMetrix EMPI for matching and linking patient information in the absence of a common identifier, allowing providers to achieve a single view of patients. Part of the MatchMetrix Registry Suite for Healthcare, MatchMetrix EMPI uses optimized matching algorithms to identify, index, and resolve related patient records spread over different applications and disparate systems. It builds a comprehensive master index of patients and links them together under an Enterprise ID.

Deployed in several new HIE implementations, MatchMetrix helps connected healthcare communities exchange data on the right patient, which in turn eliminates misunderstandings, improves health outcomes, reduces costs. As a result of comprehensive testing performed at the Connectathon, customers can rest assured that MatchMetrix supports the interoperability required for health information exchange and will work in their environment.

“Our success with XCPD and other IHE profiles demonstrates our commitment to standards-based and proven design principles which gives our customers multiple, low cost deployment options,” said Dan Cidon, Chief Technology Officer at NextGate. “We’ve created an entire registry platform that conforms to industry protocols for interoperability, making it straightforward to implement patient-centric solutions in a timely manner.”
