Mostashari: 'Rapid progress' on HIE needed this year

Health information exchange is ready to "take off," as an increasing number of providers continue to adopt electronic health records, National Coordinator for Health IT Farzad Mostashari writes in his latest post to the Health IT Buzz blog. According to Mostashari, all certified EHR systems now can "record, consume or produce standardized content" such as medication lists and lab results.
