Agreement focuses on maintenance, development, support for agency’s electronic health record
PHOENIX & CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Medsphere Systems Corporation, the leading provider of open-source healthcare enterprise solutions, today announced that the company has won a competitive bidding process to work with the Indian Health Service (IHS) on the agency’s Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS), derived from the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) VistA electronic health record (EHR).
Initially valued at more than $15 million over five years, the contract is focused on two primary objectives for the RPMS solution:
- Provide support, training and development, including interfaces, for VueCentric®, a graphical user interface (GUI) framework used in healthcare facilities nationwide serving American Indian and Alaska Native populations. VueCentric enhances RPMS usability by enabling a modular approach to configuring disparate application views for a single user or group of users.
- Develop a Web-enabled clinical user interface enabling simplified implementation and support, improving clinical adoption for smaller IHS facilities.
