MediConnect Releases New Cloud-Based Scheduling System for Onsite Medical Record Reviews

  • New Cloud-Based System Allows Clients to Efficiently Schedule Onsite Medical Record Reviews for Clients in Health Insurance, Life Insurance and Legal Industries
  • Features Include Productivity Tracking, Google Maps Integration, Appointment Log Creation, Strategic Workflow Assignments and More

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- MediConnect Global today announced the availability of RapidRequest, a cloud-based service that enables its clients – such as those in the health insurance, life insurance and legal industries – to seamlessly and cost-effectively track and schedule their own on-site medical record retrievals and reviews.

The new workflow management system allows MediConnect clients – which include four of the five leading health insurance plans – to schedule dates and times with participating healthcare providers for on-site medical record retrieval and review through an intuitive and easy-to-implement online interface.

MediConnect’s new on-site scheduling and review system makes the process of medical record retrieval more efficient and more accessible to a broad group of organizations. RapidRequest streamlines the process for setting up onsite reviews by grouping physicians into Master Record Locations (MRLs) where the patient chart is maintained, and linking each physician’s patients to these MRLs, presenting a comprehensive list of records that need to be reviewed at any given site. The system also allows supervisors to make workflow assignments to specific nurses or coders needing to visit these sites to perform the reviews.

“We designed RapidRequest to make on-site scheduling for medical record reviews as efficient as possible for our clients who are tasked with going out to physician offices to retrieve hundreds to even thousands of medical records from multiple destinations. Trying to manage the logistics of that without the proper systems can be extremely difficult,” said Amy Rees Anderson, CEO of MediConnect Global. “The cloud-based system we have developed addresses the issues facing scheduling coordinators. By centralizing the data and offering workflow options that streamline the process, we’ve enabled users to clearly see the big picture, which ultimately will increase their productivity.”

Additional features of MediConnect’s new RapidRequest system include:

  • Tracking staff assignments and productivity
  • Workflow management
  • Creating defaulted actions and next actions for specific follow up tasks
  • Calendar appointments sent automatically to popular electronic calendaring systems
  • Integration with Google Maps for driving directions
  • Auto-association of uploaded images from providers
  • End-of-day appointment logs with mileage tracking

As one of the first and largest health information exchanges, MediConnect is the worldwide leader in innovative medical record retrieval. MediConnect’s RapidRequest is fully integrated with RapidReview, its proprietary and customizable workflow system, which includes a Risk Adjustment Data Validation (RADV) module and a Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) measures module for abstraction, among many other features to enable health insurers to more easily navigate recent healthcare reforms.
