New York City-based association The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) announced it is developing four new standards that would expand support for medical device communication.
Under the new standards, IEEE 11073-10417 will support plug-and-play interoperable medical devices such as glucose meters, pulse oximeters, respiration rate and cardiovascular activity monitors, and insulin pumps, according to Association News. Announcement
