IDC Health Insights Welcomes Industry Pioneer Cynthia Burghard as Research Director

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- IDC Health Insights today announced the appointment of industry pioneer, Cynthia Burghard, to Research Director, responsible for research on Accountable Care Organizations. As a long-time industry analyst, Cynthia has produced qualitative and quantitative research that explores the involvement of consumers in healthcare decisions, best practices models for technology in care management and business intelligence, software vendor evaluation, and future scenarios regarding the implications of technology in the healthcare industry.

In her new role, Cynthia's research will cover the technologies required to meet the objectives of accountable care. In the next nine months Cynthia will be publishing research on the analytic requirements of accountable care. Of particular interest is how Accountable Care Organizations will perform risk identification and performance measurement. Previously, Cynthia served as Senior Vice President for ikaSystems, a premier provider of enterprise-level cloud computing technologies for commercial, Medicare and Medicaid health plans. As a Research Director at Gartner, Cynthia was responsible for directing research for the healthcare payer market for business intelligence applications and care management. In this role, she delivered the results of her research to all levels of management and healthcare sectors through the publication of over 100 research reports, articles and interviews, thought leadership papers and web seminars, presentations at national, regional and local venues, corporate marketing and sales training, and through strategic consulting engagements.
