HIT Application Solutions (HIT), a leading healthcare technology development and services company, announced today that Jerry Baker has accepted the role of President and Chief Executive Officer. Baker brings extensive experience in the healthcare industry, with an impressive track record for helping privately held companies achieve aggressive growth goals, build a strong customer base and form vital strategic partnerships.

“Jerry is a proven performer who has consistently achieved operational success in a variety of senior executive roles over the past 12 years,” notes Brian Biddulph-Krentar, HIT’s founder and current president and CEO. “His approach to leadership, customer service and innovation—combined with exceptional skills in managing the complexities of growth—are exactly what HIT needs at this time. Jerry has demonstrated the ability to align the diverse constituents of companies that offer both innovative technologies and customer-oriented services.”

Prior to joining HIT, Baker served as president and CEO of Halfpenny Technologies, a Blue Bell, PA-based company offering a clinical hub platform providing integration among disparate hospital, laboratory and EHR systems. During his tenure he positioned the company to leverage the rapid adoption of EHRs while transitioning to a SaaS economic model. He oversaw the acquisition of Laboratory Management Services (LMS), successfully obtained venture capital funding and executed on a strategic plan that delivered a 75 percent compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) on revenue.

Baker also held the position of president and CEO of MRO Corporation, an industry leading provider of disclosure management and health information exchange for healthcare organizations, and president and COO of Info-X, Inc., a New Jersey-based provider of medical coding compliance software and data that was successfully acquired by 3M.

Additionally, Baker served as captain in the United States Marine Corps.

“Helping HIT Application Solutions achieve its short- and long-term goals represents a wonderful opportunity for me,” Baker says. “I have been impressed by the company’s vision and its commitment to its customers, and am excited about working with the current team to explore future strategies for even greater success.”

“We’re excited to welcome Jerry into this leadership role,” adds Biddulph-Krentar. “I look forward to working collaboratively with him as I focus on the company’s technology and services areas.”
