HHS video challenge focuses on patient engagement, IT use

Patient engagement in healthcare takes center stage in the Healthy New Year Video Challenge launched by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and announced by National Coordinator for Health IT Farzad Mostashari yesterday. The first in a series of planned video contests, it calls for patients to tell their personal stories of how technology improved their health. The challenge is part of a larger, ongoing government effort to engage patients in their own health data. Videos are due by Feb. 16, and winners will receive some prize money, as well as have their submissions featured on the HealthIT.gov website. Announcement
