, provider of the only integrated financial, administrative and clinical platform for healthcare payors, today announced that Executive Vice President Ray Desrochers will deliver “Adapting to a Changing Payer Marketplace: Insight and Advice from the Front Lines” at AHIP’s Institute 2013. The presentation will examine the results of HealthEdge’s most recent “State of the Payor” industry survey and provide insight on how payors can leverage technology to reduce costs, engage members and providers, support next-generation healthcare business models and achieve regulatory compliance.

According to Desrochers, “A fundamental shift in the healthcare marketplace has payors searching for new ways to adapt to change, streamline operations, create transparency, attract new customers and drive satisfaction. Health plans understand that business as usual is no longer an option, and that a complete business and technology transformation is required to compete in the new healthcare economy.”

In addition to the session, HealthEdge, as a Chairman Select Level Sponsor, will be conducting a workshop at Institute 2013 entitled, “Creating a Plan for Success: Positioning Your Organization for the New Health Care Economy.” The workshop, held in collaboration with HealthEdge’s new partner Optum, will be a hands-on, interactive session designed for business and technology leaders who are responsible for establishing and delivering on their organizations’ business and technology goals. The session will include information required to prepare for emerging health care business models including accountable care organizations (ACOs), health insurance exchanges (HIXs), value-based benefits (VBBs) and value-based reimbursement, and their potential impact on core administrative processes.

AHIP’s Institute is one of the industry’s most prestigious events, bringing together payor executives from across the country to share thoughts, ideas and insights on the challenges facing their organizations. The focus of the conference is navigating the changes to our health care system, delivering answers to payors’ long-term business considerations, as well as the day-to-day challenges they are facing as they rush to meet the requirements of the ACA.

Desrochers’ Concurrent Session will be presented during AHIP’s Institute 2013 at the Wynn Las Vegas/Encore Hotel on Thursday, June 13 at 1:45 p.m. in LaFleur 1. The HealthEdge Workshop will be held on Wednesday, June 12 at 3:30 p.m. in Petrus 1 and registration is required. Please visit to register for the workshop.
