(NYSE: HNT) received three honors at the 14 annual Winter/Spring 2012 Competition for creating various electronic resources that help it connect with consumers and promote health education.

Health Net earned a gold award for , its teen health literacy social website that encourages all teens to become knowledgeable health care consumers. T2X is a partnership between Health Net, UCLA School of Public Health and EPG Technologies.

In addition, Health Net earned a bronze award for its corporate and a merit award for , its mobile application.

“In order to eliminate the idea that being fit is a chore, it is important to make decision-making tools user-friendly and readily available for our members,” said Mark Brooks, Health Net’s chief technology officer. “We believe that encouraging consumers to participate in their own health care decisions is key to promoting and sustaining healthy behaviors.”

Health Net’s three winning entries were chosen from nearly 600 submissions, which were judged by a national panel of health technology professionals. The Web Health Awards are organized by the Health Information Resource Center, a national clearinghouse that recognizes what it considers to be among the nation’s best digital health resources.
