Greenway's Remote Clinic PrimeMOBILE Available on Apple's iPad

Mobile EHR and Practice Management Solution Now Complete on Apple's Line of Handheld Devices, Allowing Providers Integrated Clinical Functions From Any Location

August 31, 2011, Carrollton,Ga. - Greenway Medical Technologies, Inc., announced today the availability of its remote clinical and financial solution PrimeMOBILETM as a native application for Apple's iPad® and iPad2® following last year's iPhone® release. PrimeMOBILE integrates functionality accessed on handheld devices directly with Greenway's single-database electronic health record (EHR), practice management and interoperability solution PrimeSUITE® 2011.

PrimeMOBILE provides password-protected, remote access of patient data, clinical documents, clinical scans and lab results through patient search and filter functions. The solution streamlines workflows during physician-patient encounters by providing patient summaries, the ability to graph patient vitals, place provider notations and access communications.

F. Jon Senkowsky, MD, a vascular surgeon in Arlington, Texas, and a user of PrimeMOBILE for iPhone since it was first launched, has utilized PrimeMOBILE for iPad in its pilot stage for several months. "It's been very successful and very convenient for us, especially in the hospital setting where I don't have to bring back a paper facesheet from patient encounters," said Senkowsky. "I can view images, CT scans, and current prescriptions, all in the patient's room, and I can access my daily schedule as well."

PrimeMOBILE'S administrative and financial capabilities integrate charge capture and confirmation through the access of CPT and ICD codes to instantly route charges and notes to PrimeSUITE for review and posting to accelerate billing cycles and reduce lost charges.

A recent study by Manhattan Research found that 75 percent of U.S. physicians now own some form of an Apple device, either at home or in the office, 30 percent own an iPad and an additional 28 percent plan to purchase one by the end of the year. The study also emphasized the positive response physicians had towards the adoption of the new device, specifically in the practice setting and the interest in accessing medical records through a mobile device.

Greenway® plans to release PrimeMOBILE for Android devices this fall.

"We've heard from our customers about how much PrimeMOBILE for iPhone has been beneficial, so moving the application to the iPad was a natural evolution of our offering," said Johnathan Samples, executive vice president of Research and Development at Greenway. "We want physicians, nurses, and administrators to be able to use every capability of PrimeSUITE regardless of where they are in the clinical sequence. If they want to check their schedule, lab results or charges it's all right there. We want to make the entire office immediately accessible."
