Venture capital funding for digital health in Q1 of 2016 surpassed $1.4 billion with 146 deals, a 27 percent increase from Q4 of 2015, according to a report from Mercom Capital.
About $529 million of the funding went to health information management companies. Meanwhile, mobile health tech received $407 million in 55 deals, telehealth hit $191 million with 21 deals and consumer-centric companies got $10.4 million from five deals.
In addition, mergers and acquisitions had a record high 58 transactions, the highest number in a single quarter. Report
