As chief medical officer, Dr. Litt is responsible for providing strategic insight to Dell’s healthcare solutions to help healthcare organizations, medical professionals and patients realize the benefits of information-enabled healthcare. Dell solutions help global healthcare providers achieve an environment that is interconnected, efficient and patient-focused.

By improving the accessibility, affordability and adoption of critical information technology at healthcare’s front line, Dell connects the healthcare ecosystem so that hospital and physician providers, payers and pharmaceutical companies can harness the power of information to streamline administration; coordinate and improve patient care; transition from episodic care to prevention and wellness management; and ultimately deliver personalized medicine.

“Andy brings a wealth of provider experience to this role and will further enhance Dell’s deep expertise in healthcare,” said Calhoun. “Currently, our team includes hundreds of clinicians along with business and technology professionals who specialize in clinical and IT implementation. Andy will help our team drive further performance efficiencies and healthcare transformation with our customers.”

Dell is ranked No. 1 for IT Services in the worldwide healthcare provider market for the second year in a row, based on 2010 revenue. (Gartner, Inc., Market Share: IT Services, 2010, Kathryn Hale et al, March 31, 2011.)

As head of Litt Healthcare Ventures, Dr. Litt consulted with private equity firms and others seeking to invest in healthcare. Prior to that, he served as executive vice president, vice dean and chief of staff of New York University Langone Medical Center, where he coordinated all activities and strategy for the medical center including the NYU School of Medicine and the NYU Hospitals Center.

During his tenure as EVP, he oversaw the turnaround of the medical center’s finances, implemented a new strategic plan, coordinated the development of a new clinical tower, and implemented an electronic health record system and other major projects. Prior to assuming his EVP role, Dr. Litt was vice chair for financial affairs in the medical center’s radiology department.

Dr. Litt is a board certified neuroradiologist and a fellow of the American College of Radiology with recognized expertise in neurovascular imaging. He is a graduate of Brown University and received his medical degree from New York University, where he also completed his internship, residency and fellowship. He was a founding member and continues to serve on the board of CareCore National, which provides utilization and quality management programs for managed care companies. He was also a founding board member of Imaging on Call, a provider of emergency “off-hours” radiology interpretations via the Internet for hospitals and radiology practices.
