Connexall 5.0 Enables Customized Clinical Workflow Across the Hospital Care Continuum

Latest version of leading interoperability and workflow engine ensures delivery and accuracy of clinical messages with improved reporting regardless of location

BOULDER, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- In response to the growing need for improved two-way, role-based communication across the hospital, Connexall today announced the release of version 5.0 of its system-wide interoperability and workflow engine. Leading hospitals and health systems have already implemented Connexall 5.0, and are benefitting from the delivery of critical patient information to the right caregiver at the moment it matters. These forward-looking organizations now have the ability to roll-out new, more effective workflow approaches across teams and departments.

“Right now, every hospital is struggling to better understand, navigate and develop their own unique approach to workflow and interoperability. There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to making sure clinicians get the right information in their hands at the right time,” said Yihan Zhang, vice president of professional services at Connexall. “Connexall 5.0 enables hospitals to not only maximize the value of their IT investments by connecting systems, people, and devices, but also to implement or redesign their clinical workflow, based on their specific needs.”

Key features of Connexall 5.0 include:

  • Role-based assignments – Creates the association between caregiver, device and messages to ensure that the right provider receives the right message quickly and easily.
  • Reporting optimization – Supports current healthcare workflows while tracking the user responsible for taking action on the delivered message. Provides complete reporting especially during the investigation of ‘never events,’ improving individual accountability among clinical teams.
  • Hospital-wide information – Fully integrated system eliminates the need to make assignments in multiple systems by enabling the exchange of information across multiple systems within each healthcare facility.

Connexall 5.0 is currently being implemented at Parkview Health, a not-for-profit, community-based health system serving a population of more than 820,000 people across northeast Indiana. Paul Jones, director of technology services at Parkview, enlisted Connexall to improve decision support for caregivers, creating a more optimal interdepartmental workflow and making two-way communication more seamless across teams throughout the hospital.

“Connexall is the healthcare IT company approaching hospital interoperability, integration and workflow in a way that actually makes the lives of our clinicians and patients easier and better,” said Jones. “With this new release, we are confident that Connexall’s unique integration capabilities will help us further optimize and re-engineer the patient experience – enabling better care from admission to discharge, and more satisfied caregivers.”
