Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer Lea Fourkiller and Associate Vice President of Clinical Revenue Cycle Services Rhonda Bankester, RN, CPUR, CMAS, IQCI, will be speaking at the conference for patient financial services professionals on Oct. 18 in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Fourkiller will present “Creating an In-House Compliance Team: Basic Principles for Getting the Job Done” on Thursday, Oct. 18, at 11:00 a.m. During her session, she will explain how to effectively establish a compliance program that supports the goals of a hospital’s revenue cycle process, protects the financial and reputational welfare of the hospital, and maintains an organization’s compliance with the law. Fourkiller has served as Conifer Health’s Chief Compliance Officer since 2009 and previously served as a Regional Compliance Director for 13 Tenet Healthcare hospitals. She holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law and became a member of the Oklahoma Bar in 1988.

Bankester will present “How to Implement an Effective Clinical Denials Strategy” on Thursday, Oct. 18, at 3:15 p.m. In her presentation, she will provide effective approaches for establishing denial management and recovery processes that lead to enhanced profitability, a reduction of case management workload and denial risk mitigation. Bankester has served as Associate Vice President at Conifer Health since 2010 and leads a national team of revenue cycle clinicians performing retrospective review of clinical denials and appeals and precertification activities. She has held various leadership positions with the company since 2000. She completed her prerequisite nursing curriculum at the University of New Orleans and received her diploma from Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans, La.
