(NASDAQ: CPSI), a leading provider of healthcare information solutions, today announced that Morton County Health System, located in Elkhart, KS, was the first hospital in the state of Kansas to receive a Medicare incentive payment under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Morton County Health System joins the growing list of CPSI client hospitals that have qualified to receive incentive payments utilizing CPSI’s electronic medical record (EMR) system.

The facility recently received a payment of over $1.4 million in stimulus funds made available under ARRA, which promotes adoption of EHRs by healthcare providers. In order to qualify, hospitals must be users of an EMR system certified to support the Stage 1 “Meaningful Use” measures adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The CPSI EMR System, Version 17, was certified as a Complete EHR by CCHIT, an ONC Authorized Testing and Certification Body in November 2010.
