The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) of Health IT has already received more than three dozen comments since publishing its new draft strategic plan for 2011-2015.
The HITECH Act requires ONC to update the plan -- which includes updated goals related to use of electronic health information, information exchanges, and privacy issues -- and to take into account the "rapidly changing landscape of health IT and health IT policy that has been drastically altered over the past years" by the HITECH Act and Affordable Care Act, said National Coordinator David Blumenthal, MD, in his blog describing the draft plan. -- Read the full article in FireceEMR
