Clearinghouse Services Offer Providers a Key to Success through Enhanced Revenue Collection

Orem, Utah-December 16, 2011In a market where all vendors maintain excellent standards in basic claims submission, the KLAS Ambulatory Clearinghouse 2011: Dollars, Sense and 5010 Readiness report finds that vendors who are focused on making the provider-to-clearinghouse claims transfer as painless as possible through quality service and support, as well as providing functionally strong claims management tools, have the most satisfied clients.

In the Clearinghouse 2011 specialty report, 842 providers gave their feedback concerning vendor-provided support and ranked the importance and strength of vendor-developed claims management tools.

Providers also reflected upon the performance of free clearinghouses. "KLAS found that clearinghouse services continue to improve and evolve. While providers who pay for premium services generally think it's worth it, the data also shows that providers do not necessarily have to pay a premium price to have an excellent experience," said Mark Wagner, report author.

Providers shared the multiple approaches they are using to get ready for the migration to HIPAA 5010 standards. As of January 1, 2012, the only viable claims submission form will change from the 4010 to the 5010, and many providers are leaning on their vendors to help them make the switch.
