CHIME names new CEO

Colorado Health Medical Group CEO Russell Branzell was tapped by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives this week to serve as its new President and CEO. CHIME announced in early November that it was creating the position to "guide the organization's future growth" in light of the increasing importance of health IT in the healthcare industry.

Branzell, who has been heavily involved with CHIME for more than 15 years, also previously served as CIO for Fort Collins, Colo.-based Poudre Valley Health System; CHIME, in its November announcement, said the new CEO would be an experienced healthcare CIO.

Branzell will begin his new role on April 5. Announcement
