CCHIT gets official, approves new vendors

The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology keeps picking up momentum. Not only has it given 11 more products its seal of approval, it just got officially named as a "recognized certification body" by HHS. To date, CCHIT has certified 33 ambulatory EHR products, which had to meet all of CCHIT's 200-odd criteria. It will follow up by certifying hospital EHRs and health information exchange infrastructures.

CCHIT's picks include ABELMed PM--EMR by ABELSoft, AcerMed by AcerMed, Bond Clinician EHR by Bond Technologies, Medical Practice EMR by CPSI, Sunrise Ambulatory Care by Eclipsys Corporation, CareRevolution by EHS, PrimeSuite by Greenway Medical Technologies, MediNotes e by MediNotes Corporation, MedPlexus EHR by MedPlexus, Avatar by Netsmart Technologies and Noteworthy EHR by Noteworthy Medical Systems.
