California replaces Cal eConnect for HIE implementation

Cal eConnect, which has helped California to launch its health information exchange over the last two years, will be replaced by the Institute for Population Health Improvement, according to an announcement from the state's health and human services agency. The Cal eConnect Board, according to a California Healthline report, determined that it could not move fast enough to implement approved programs, and thus recommended that the state find a more experienced organization to carry out the remainder of the HIE launch.
