The breach of a management software third party vendor to Eye Associated of Pinellas, may have put the personal health information of tens of thousands of patients at risk.
The Florida-based eye care facility, in a letter on its website, said vendor Bizmatics Inc. suffered a data breach in late March, in which patient files may have been accessed. The vendor is unable to ID which files were accessed, according to the letter.
The number impacted could be upward of 87,000, according to the Department of Health and Human Services breach portal. Letter
