The American Health Information Management Association recently developed a new online guide to help consumers in the access and use of their personal health records. The guide--Understanding Your Medical Record--helps consumers by answering a broad spectrum of questions on PHRs, ranging from "What is a medical record?" to "How can you change or correct your medical record?" CEO Lynne Thomas Gordon said in a statement that the guide will help consumers in understanding the purpose of the technology, and thus, "enhance the relationship between a patient and their doctor or healthcare provider."
