ABILITY Network Simplifies Patient Access with Launch of ABILITY ACCELERATE

ABILITY ACCELERATE -- Reducing Patient Intake Time and Improving Accuracy

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- ABILITY Network Inc™, the nation’s largest and most secure web-based healthcare network, announced today the launch of a new service, ABILITY ACCELERATE – simplifying patient access and improving accuracy by providing a workflow and activity tracking tool that highlights and prioritizes actions for patient intake staff. ABILITY’s workflow solutions are leading to better patient experiences.

ABILITY ACCELERATE includes features addressing fragmented clinical record prevention, a host of services for pre-registration, and advanced automated eligibility. Eligibility verification can be performed on all scheduled patients prior to an encounter. An interactive dashboard will display any eligibility issues with highlighted action items that help to quickly identify, address and resolve these problems.

“Over 3,000 hospitals count on our network each day and we continually hear that inaccuracies in the patient intake process have a serious negative impact on reimbursement and pose patient safety issues,” said Mark Briggs, CEO of ABILITY Network. “Most patient access teams feel short staffed and struggle to keep up with an increasing workload. ABILITY ACCELERATE helps by streamlining and automating steps in the intake process while prioritizing what needs to be done to get patients accurately registered, including checking for a pre-existing medical record from previous visits. This combined focus on administrative and clinical tasks in the workflow is a hallmark of ABILITY’s intent on helping providers maximize reimbursement and improve patient safety and the overall patient experience.”

ABILITY ACCELERATE allows users to access lists of active patients, providing a consolidated dashboard that sorts and filters by a variety of criteria: payers, providers, departments and location within a health system. A host of easy-to-read status indicators pinpoint what information may still be needed to complete the patient registration process. Additional features and benefits include:

  • Single user interface for eligibility verification for all Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers and third party administrators (TPAs)
  • Services to ensure that a patient’s demographic information is complete and accurate
  • Clinical record services to ensure that the patient’s record does not get fragmented or split across duplicate medical records
  • A set of administrative functions to manage services across patient access departments and multiple locations

ABILITY will be demonstrating ACCELERATE at the National Association of Healthcare Access Management, NAHAM, conference May 8-11 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego, CA.
