MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- ABILITY Network Inc™, the nation’s largest and most secure web-based health network, announced today that their headquarters was awarded Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) certification by the US Green Building Council (USGBC).
LEED certification was designed by the USGBC to attest that a building or community is designed and constructed using approaches aimed at achieving the highest performance in five critical areas that encourage and facilitate the development of more sustainable buildings. The review of ABILITY’s headquarters was performed by the Certification Body through the Green Building Certification Institute. ABILITY currently occupies approximately ten percent of the historic Butler Square building downtown Minneapolis located in the warehouse district. Butler Square received LEED certification in 2009.
ABILITY’s LEED certification included meeting the criteria in the following categories: site selection-select a LEED certified building, development density and community connectivity, alternative transportation – public transportation access, alternative parking available, optimize energy performance, green power, waste management, low emitting materials, and innovative design. “We are honored to receive the LEED certification and feel it is an excellent reflection of our values in striving to help our clients remove waste and inefficiency from the healthcare system.
