ABILITY|EASE – Making Life Easier for Home Health Care Agencies

New product reduces or eliminates delayed revenues, permanent loss or write-offs

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- ABILITY Network Inc™, the nation’s largest and most secure web-based health network, announced today the availability of ABILITY|EASE, a software product that allows home health care agencies to stay up-to-date and informed on Medicare payments. Previously time-consuming processes are now automated through ABILITY|EASE including eligibility checks on active patients, claims corrections and the ability to be notified about patients moving from Medicare to Medicare Advantage or a commercial payer.

As changes in health care reform continue to affect the bottom line of many home health agencies, billing has become increasingly more challenging and payments are decreasing. ABILITY|EASE is able to track all billing inquiries and improve cash flow management with increased understanding of receivables and risk.

“Historically, home health care staff spent countless hours checking Medicare eligibility, claim status in DDE, fixing claims and following up on RAP or final claims to ensure proper payment, taking significant time to engage in payer/eligibility activity,” said Mark Briggs, CEO of ABILITY Network. “ABILITY|EASE will save our clients time and money while providing up-to-the-minute access to relevant information for all active patients.”

ABILITY|EASE allows users to access lists of patients seen, verify how many patients switched eligibility status or transitioned to another agency, and receive weekly activity reports that highlight potential problem areas, challenging claims or patients in DDE. Additional features include a fully integrated dashboard with analytical support, and a “click-to-fix” option for automated claims correction.

“The ability to catch when a patient has moved outside the system is vital,” said Craig Steffel, Office Manager of A Plus Home Health Care. “When a patient comes up as having changed plans or agencies we typically find out within a few days, not weeks or months, which minimizes our revenue losses.”

Additional benefits of utilizing ABILITY|EASE:

  • Reduces or eliminates delayed revenues, permanent loss or write-offs
  • Accelerates reimbursement process
  • Improves cash flow management with increased understanding of receivables and risk
  • Enables a reliable and accurate Receivable Report
  • Makes ABILITY’s DDE easier to user by automating tedious follow-up and tracking
  • Saves billers’ time, enabling them to work on higher value tasks
