Fifty-one clinics of Northeast Georgia Physicians Group this week earned the HIMSS Analytics Stage 7 Ambulatory Award for electronic medical record adoption. NGPG, according to an announcement, is integrated with the Northeast Georgia Health System, which serves more than 800,000 patients across more than 13 counties.
"Our use of information technology systems allows us to provide enhanced patient care and positively impact the health of our community," NGPG President Sherry Dorsey said. The group will be recognized at HIMSS14 in Orlando, Fla., later this month.
HIMSS Executive Vice President John Hoyt called NGPG's leadership in a multi-provider, multi-vendor health information exchange industry leading.
