William Walker Joins Aegis Health Group as Vice President of Information Technology Services

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Aegis Health Group, the nation’s leading provider of business development strategies for hospitals, has appointed William “Bill” Walker as vice president of information technology services effective immediately. This position supports Aegis’ expertise in creating the customized software applications that are an integral part of hospitals’ population health management and physician relationship management programs.

As vice president of information technology services, Walker will oversee the development, architecture, customization and implementation of Aegis’ proprietary software tools. For more than a decade, Walker has assisted healthcare-related organizations in a variety of information technology functions. Most recently he served as a leader in application development and implementation for a healthcare industry software developer specializing in provider credentialing and quality/clinical data. Previously he provided application development for Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Walker attended Louisiana State University and is a veteran of the first Gulf War in which he served in the U.S. Navy.

“We are honored to have Bill join the Aegis team,” said Pearson Talbert, president of Aegis Health Group. “He brings the kind of ingenuity and results-oriented approach that Aegis needs to help hospitals track, measure and optimize the impact of their efforts to create healthier communities and build stronger relationships with physicians.”

For more than 20 years, Aegis has helped hospitals increase market share and grow revenues by strengthening relationships with both consumers and physicians. Through its employer-directed health program, hospitals have developed partnerships with local businesses as a way to develop a healthier workforce while fostering affinity between commercially insured employers and the hospital. In addition to an employer relations specialist located within the hospital, Aegis’ employer-directed solution uses proprietary software to identify health risk information about individuals, provide aggregated population health information to employers, and determine potential health savings for businesses based on improving the health of their workforce.

Aegis’ physician relationship management program helps hospitals increase physician loyalty and solidify their alignment with the facility by combining the talent of a trained physician relationship specialist with PRISM, its proprietary contact management software. PRISM includes a database of affiliated physicians and tracks requests and issues raised by doctors to ensure that they are addressed promptly. This unique software also allows hospitals to measure the value of building long-term relationships with their physicians using a data- and results-driven approach.
