NEW YORK and WASHINGTON, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- WeissComm Partners, the largest independent agency focused exclusively on the healthcare industry, today announced the appointment of Laurie Mobley as associate director of its Washington, D.C. office. She will report to Jennifer Gottlieb, managing director of the New York office.
Mobley joins WeissComm from Ketchum, where she most recently served as vice president, group manager in the Washington, D.C. office and account director of several key multi-office healthcare accounts. During her seven-year tenure at Ketchum, she also started and built the agency's healthcare practice for Ketchum South. During her 15-year career, she has managed global public health campaigns for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and executed award-winning patient education and prevention campaigns targeting women. She has headed up multi-specialty account teams for such clients as Aetna, Johnson & Johnson, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Wyeth, IBM Healthcare/Life Sciences and Novartis Ophthalmics.

Prior to Ketchum, Mobley led Cohn & Wolfe's Atlanta healthcare practice, where she oversaw communications and issues management programs for pharmaceutical, medical device and healthcare provider clients. Before that, she gained extensive science communications and issues management expertise working for the CDC. She also managed external communications for the National Center for HIV, STD and TB Prevention (NCHSTP). Earlier, Mobley managed healthcare accounts at Fleishman-Hillard and started her career in Burson-Marsteller's New York healthcare practice.
