Webinar to Help Pain Clinic Physicians Navigate New Regulations

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Pain clinics are hot news, especially now that Governor Scott has signed a new pain clinic bill, which officially applies starting on July 1, 2011. To help physicians, office managers and their advisors prepare for these new regulations, a free webinar is being offered on June 14, 2011 at 5 p.m. and again on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 7 p.m.

Attorneys Alan Gassman of Clearwater, Fla.-based Gassman, Bates & Associates, P.A.; Lester Perling, a partner with the statewide law firm Broad and Cassel; and Dr. Pariksith Singh will be presenting “How the new pain care clinic regulations affect your medical practice.” To register for the event, go to https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/682825563, call 727-442-1200 or email [email protected].

The webinar will help answer such common questions as, “Would a clinic that employs a physician, anesthesiologist, or physiatrist that is not board-certified or a nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant be required to register as a pain clinic?” The session also will include a “Pain Clinic Bill cheat sheet” to simplify the implications of each regulation, a detailed list of all drugs included, and an explanation of penalties for not complying with the new rules.
