In his new role, Scott will expand the company’s consulting practice to further help provider organizations successfully transition to value-based payment and care delivery models.

Prior to joining Valence, Dr. Cullen led strategic and operational planning for the development of clinically-integrated delivery networks, accountable care organizations and risk-based contracting as a senior vice president with Kaufman Hall. He began his consulting career at Accenture, where he gained extensive experience in technology planning and implementation in the areas of clinical analytics, electronic medical records, and health information exchanges.

Dr. Cullen began his professional career as a primary care and emergency medicine physician in the greater Boston area for 10 years. He is an active speaker on current healthcare trends, frequently presenting on physician alignment strategy and clinical integration and its implications for physicians and hospitals. He has presented at national meetings of the American College of Healthcare Executives, , the and the and is a member of American College of Physician Executives and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Cullen trained in family medicine at Brown University after receiving his doctorate from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and his B.A. from Wesleyan University.
