USMD Hospitals Win 2014 Texas Hospital Quality Improvement Awards from TMF Health Quality Institute

(), a physician-led integrated health system, announced today that both of its hospitals, USMD Hospital at Fort Worth and USMD Hospital at Arlington, have received a 2014 Texas Hospital Quality Improvement Award from the TMF Health Quality Institute. This award recognizes outstanding Texas hospitals for advancing their performance in key clinical areas designated as national health care priorities, and for performing quality initiatives aimed at improving outcomes in patient care. USMD Hospital at Fort Worth earned a gold award and USMD Hospital at Arlington earned a silver award.

The prestigious Texas Hospital Quality Improvement Awards are presented every two years and this year’s awards were based on the hospitals’ 2012 and 2013 performance. The criteria for the awards include quality data reporting measures as well as readmissions measures. All acute care and critical access hospitals across the state were automatically included as participants in the 2012-2013 program. Out of the 393 facilities across the state of Texas, 33 earned a Texas Hospital Quality Improvement gold award, 45 earned a silver award, and 57 hospitals earned a bronze award.
